A five-week journey into felting & faerie-Making
FULL CLASS — FAERIE, SNAIL, & NATURE ELEMENTS
5 weeks · October 16 – November 22, 2026
The full class begins with two weeks of faerie-making. You will create a hand-sewn moss faerie before moving into three weeks of felting, where you will create your own snail and a variety of woodland elements using wool and silk.
SNAIL, & NATURE ELEMENTS ONLY
3 weeks · October 30 – November 22, 2026
Join for the three-week Snail and Nature Elements. You'll learn to sculpt your own snail with needle felting and bring it to life with felted toadstools, foliage and other woodland details.
Beginner’s Welcome!
The Snail class is a playful exploration of the minutia and whimsy of the forest floor, and the art of visual storytelling with felt. Over the course of the class, you’ll create your own snail, using a combination of needle felting and (optionally) wet felting techniques. You will also learn how to felt a variety of toadstools and foliage using wool and silk.
If you join the full class, you will learn how I hand-sew my faeries using natural fibres—dyeing wool locks for hair, embroidering faces, creating tattered wings, and felting or sewing clothing from salvaged antique fabrics.
Materials are not included in the course cost. A resource list will be emailed upon registration, detailing where to find materials in Canada, the US, Australia, and the UK.
Course Structure & Schedule
New lessons will be available every Friday, with an estimated 3–6 hours of recommended work per week. You can move through the lessons at your own pace, as you'll have permanent access to the course. Weekly Zoom meetings will take place on Sundays, where we'll review progress, share work, and I’ll answer questions.
Weeks 1–2: Faeries
We'll begin by creating a hand-sewn faerie (or several!) using natural fibres, salvaged fabrics and wool locks. You'll be guided through each stage, from constructing the body and creating the face to making the wings, hair and clothing. You’ll also learn how to create a sense of story with your faeries.
Weeks 3–5: The Snail & Nature Elements
In week three, you will learn different techniques for creating snail shells and bodies. In the final two weeks of class, you will create a mossy base and learn a variety of felted toadstools and foliage to create a scene with.

**My design for the Faeries may not be sold commercially either. Doll making is a wonderful art form and this workshop is intended to help you build skills and learn techniques that are versatile and can be applied in all sorts of ways in your own doll making and felting.
