Faerie - In the first two weeks of class we'll be hand sewing moss faeries from natural fibres, learning how to dye wool locks for hair with a variety of natural and synthetic dyes, embroider faces, make tattered wings, and creating clothing using salvaged antique fabrics and wet felting.
The Green Man - In the second portion of the class. We will be making a needle felted Green Man over wire armature. You will learn how to make a wire armature for a figurative sculpture. Learn needle felting techniques for building form and adding colour and texture, how to work with different kinds of wool and silk to create moss, ferns and felted toadstools.
Materials are not included in the cost of the course. A full resource list for materials will be emailed out the first week in January. Kits will be available to purchase from The Olive Sparrow.
