~ Freya ~
Freya’s dress is made from scraps of old lace and a silk ribbon.
I cut the silk ribbon into strips and sewed the ends into a skirt with a running stitch.
Gather the edge to fit Freya’s waist.
Bloomers were made from a vintage tea dyed hankie.
And a mini lace bodice.
Her skirt was fastened on with a stitch at the back and then tacked in a few spots around her waist.
I made an open skirt by stitching a running stitch around the top of this lace and gathering it to fit her waist.
Then I joined it at the back of her neck and pulled the edges under her arms, sewing down the back and turning it into a bodice.
Then stitched it on top of the ribbon skit. Next I fastened this little triangle of lace around her waist with a few stitches and folded it up over her bodice.
There was a second piece of triangular lace matching the first. I turned it into a shawl by bringing the corners down and fastening them at the waist. Then I made a mini silk rose to put overtop.
